Torp Lake Lithium Deposit

Highlights:

  • 6.0 m grading 4.5% Li2O

  • 7.0 m grading 3.3% Li2O

The Torp Lake Project covers 1,003 ha and is located only 35km from tidewater in the north Slave region of Nunavut. The Torp Lake Project hosts the McAvoy lithium-rich pegmatite.

Past channel sampling work on this spodumene bearing pegmatite has returned 6.0 m grading 4.5% Li2O and 7.0 m grading 3.3% Li2O. The channels were located 78 m apart and orientated perpendicular to the north-south strike of the pegmatite.

Lithium is contained in the mineral spodumene, high concentrations of which are observable within the McAvoy pegmatite over a 110m strike length with widths of 10m to 15m. Testing the down dip and additional along-strike potential of the McAvoy pegmatite will require a program of ground geophysics and drilling. Mineralogical analysis, completed by SGS Canada Inc., of a composite sample indicated excellent liberation of spodumene (99%) and microprobe analysis confirmed the spodumene is exceptionally pure and clean of major elements, particularly iron and manganese.

The McAvoy pegmatite is a potential source of premium-priced rare technical grade spodumene.

As of the fall 2017, the Juliet Lithium Project has been expanded to cover 229 mineral claims over 3 individual claim blocks on ground immediately surrounding, contiguous to and on-trend with the Rose Project being advanced by Critical Elements Corporation (“Critical Elements”). In total, the Corporation’s Juliet Project claim tenure covers approximately 12,140 ha (~30,000 acres).

The Juliet Lithium Project is located approximately 30km north of the community of Nemaska (Nemiscau). The project is in close proximity to the Eastmain 1 hydroelectric facilities and has a power line transacting portions of the project.

Clean Commodities Corp. believes that its Juliet Lithium Project may offer similar lithium exploration potential to the adjacent Rose Project held by Critical Elements. Specifically, the exploration target for the Juliet Lithium Project are rare element Lithium-Cesium-Tantalum or LCT-type pegmatites. 

Following a summer field program, Clean Commodities announced on September 26th 2017 that it had identified a mineralized boulder field with assays up to 1.65% Li2O located within the company's tenure. Clean Commodities Corp. believes the boulders to be sourced in close proximity and from within tenure held by the company given the abundance, characteristics and metre-scale size of the boulders.

The lithium boulder field discovery is located less than 5 km to the northeast of Critical Rare Earth Elements Rose Lithium-Tantalum Deposit and proximal to other known and recently discovered lithium-tantalum pegmatites.  

Subsequent to the completion of the initial field program and the receipt of assay results, the Company moved to acquire the most prospective ground in the up-ice direction of the boulder field discovery, and is now engaged in a review of prospective follow-on exploration programs at the Juliet Lithium Project for the ensuing field season. 

The Juliet Lithium Project represents an attractive lithium exploration project in an emerging lithium district and is an exploration priority for the Company.

The adjacent Rose Project being advanced by Critical Elements hosts a current Indicated resource of 26.5 million tonnes of 1.30% Li2O Eq. or 0.98% Li2O and 163 ppm Ta2O5 and an Inferred resource of 10.7 million tonnes of 1.14% Li2O Eq. or 0.86% Li2O and 145 ppm Ta2O5 (see Critical Elements Corporation, NI 43-101 Technical Report and Preliminary Economic Assessment on the Rose Tantalum-Lithium Project dated December 10, 2011, see http://www.cecorp.ca/documents/en/pea_final_techreport.pdf).
